NEW United SC welcomes Andy Borchart as the new Momentum Academy Director. Andy began with a passion for playing soccer as a kid. When he started coaching, he knew it would be a major part of his life moving forward, “I enjoy teaching kids and watching them grow and develop as players and as people, too. I have learned from many great coaches over the years, and I am still learning daily. I take pride in being able to pass on the passion I have for soccer to our players. I look forward to my next step with New United and I am excited to have this opportunity!” Andy started playing soccer at 7 years old, started coaching in high school through MASC soccer. Andy played classic soccer at Menasha Area Soccer Club through U17 and all four years at Menasha High School, three years on varsity in the FVA Division. He also played in UWGB intramural leagues. Andy has been with NEW United for the past three years as a Momentum Academy Coach and currently also coach of the NEW United Boys Select Developmental 2009 team. We congratulate Andy on his new role in the club and look forward to his success.
NEW United would like to thank Killian McKenzie for his time as Momentum Academy Director. The program has continued to grow through Killian’s leadership and he will be missed. Killian is stepping down due to work commitments and time restraints but will remain with NEW United as a team coach. New United is excited to have Killian stay coaching in another capacity.
The NEW United SC Momentum Academy is the premier youth development program for U8, U9, & U10 (7-10 year old) players in the Fox Valley. The Academy program emphasizes developing the complete player in all 4 pillars of the game including: technical, tactical, physical, and psychological. Our program is designed specifically for those players who desire advanced training from professional staff. Through our program players learn to be comfortable with the ball at their feet, have vision, handle pressure, be organized, and to work together while having fun as they develop a love for the game.

Because of the age of our players and the nature of Academy, nothing is truly mandatory, in that players will not be penalized in terms of playing time due to missing practices. Studies have shown that kids at this age benefit more from playing multiple sports than specializing in only one. We expect players to miss occasionally in order to fulfill other athletic or familial commitments. Obviously, they only get something out of our program by showing up, but they are expected to make what they can make.
When a player is available for a game or practice, they are expected to show up at the prescribed time. We will be using online software to track player availability and attendance at events. Please be sure to stay up to date and in contact with your manager in order to ensure proper groupings.
All players will get at least one game per Saturday play date and have the opportunity to play tournaments as outlined above.
For families, there are volunteer and fundraising requirements which help keep costs down and allow us to continue to sport one of the best soccer facilities in the Midwest. More information on these can be found here.
NEW United SC not only strives to develop soccer players but to develop leaders by encouraging creativity, respect, and responsibility on and off the field. All Academy players are expected to demonstrate focus, and a willingness to compete and develop as they prepare for possible competitive soccer play.
The NEW United SC Momentum Academy is a fully accredited academy program by the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association (WYSA). More information on accreditation and WYSA can be found on their website, here. Participants in the program receive year round professional training by the club's strongest coaches. Players compete in: In-house academy games, festival events (organized friendly matches), and tournaments all over the state.
