ASC Tryouts Information

Classic Try-outs

ASC Classic Tryouts Revamped!

Appleton Soccer Club must make adjustments to the classic tryout schedule for competitive teams. This is due to the ruling passed by our governing body, East Central Soccer, to have clubs who are entering teams in the Wisconsin State League to run tryouts starting after the last state league game, which is around June 15th.

ASC is well aware this will be a big change to our schedule but all efforts are being done to make the transition as smooth as possible.

Ø      All tryouts for age groups, U12-U17 for boys and girls will be moved to the week of June 16. The tryout format will remain as is.

Ø      Results will than be calculated immediately and the Red Level teams (State League play) will be formed. (This will allow these teams to start their season on August 1 in accordance with the soccer season.)

Ø      Blue, Gold and White teams will than be formed based on the tryouts and contact will begin AFTER THE 4TH OF JULY HOLIDAY. This will give our commissioners needed time to sort out the rest of the group and make phone calls after families have returned.

It is understood players will know before the end of the existing season where they will be playing the following season, ASC is confident coaches will handle this with the respect it deserves. ASC’s goal is always to develop players to play to the highest level of their ability.

Because the U10 Dev and U11 Age groups will not be competiting in the Wi State League, these age group tryouts will continue to take place after July 1st.

Dates and times will be published in the next 4 weeks. Check on the ASC website or watch for the dates in the Soccer Shorts.

Classic Tryouts - U10 to U17

New try out procedures: Effective for the 2008-2009 season, on-field tryouts will be required for age groups U10-U17. (U18 and U19 will be added in subsequent years.) ASC is doing this to provide the highest level of competitive soccer to the most players available in the Fox Valley area. Tryouts are scheduled for the week of June 16, 2008. Times and schedules will be published in Soccer Shorts and on the ASC Web Site.
