ASC Goalgetters - 2008 WI State Champions

The U13 girls’ Appleton Goal Getters became the first youth team from the Fox Valley to Win the Wisconsin State Cup Championship by defeating FC Milwaukee Blue 1-0 at the USA Youth Sports Complex.  In the opening pool play, the team defeated SC Waukesha Inferno 2-0 in a match up that took 34 shots to get the win.  They then faced a tough Allouez Stride team defeating them 1-0 before wrapping up pool play with a 2-0 win over  Mequon Red.  In the semi-final round the Goal Getters played a tough Cedarburg Strikers team.  They scored first but fell behind 3-1 in the first half before roaring back to tie the match in regulation.  After two 10 minute overtimes the score remained locked at 3-3 and went to a shoot out where they finally defeated Cedarburg 4-2.  In the Championship game the Goal Getters took a 1-0 lead after a goal half-way through the second half.  They deployed a 5-4-1 defensive strategy to hold off a determined FC Milwaukee team for the final 18 minutes of play.  The Goal Getters played aggressive defense throughout the tournament and finished with 4 out of 5 games resulting in shut outs.

NEW United 94 - 2008 WI State Champions

NEW United 94 won the U14G 2008 WI State Championship.  NEW United 94 outscored their opponents 21 - 1 during the tournament.  They won their semi-final game versus FC Milwuakee 1-0, scoring the winning goal in the last few minutes of regulation.  They went on to win the Championship against SC Waukesha 3-1. 

ASC Arsenal win 2008 U14G Cost Cutters Championship

The Arsenal outscored their opponents 13-1 in five games and won the championship 2-0 vs. Stevens Point.

ASC Celtics win U12C 2008 Blaine North American Cup

The ASC U12C Celtics took first place in the Blaine North American Cup Challenge outscoring their opponents 21-2.  Congratulations Celtics!!

ASC Arsenal Win U14G 2008 Green Bay Invitational Tourney

The ASC Arsenal won the U14G Championship 1-0 vs. the Howard Hurricanes in overtime.  The Arsenal only gave up two goals in five games. 

ASC Dynamite Wins 2008 Flatgrass Showdown - Black Division

The U14G ASC Dynamite took 1st place in the Black Division of The Flatgrass Showdown.

ASC Celtics wins 2008 Flatgrass U12 Boys Championship

 The Appleton Celtics U-12 Boys - Won the Championship this weekend at Neenah’s 29th Annual Flatgrass Tournament. The Celtics went 1-0-2 in a very tough group (including SC Waukesha) earning 18 points – not good enough to win the group, but good enough to earn the Wild Card spot in the playoff round.  In the Semi-finals, the Celtics made the best of the opportunity tying Neenah Elite 2-2, with 2 goals by Keegan G.  The Celtics eventually won the Semi-final game 7-6 on a penalty kick shootout…on to the Finals!  In the final’s, the Celtics ran into a very strong LCU team (Heartland, WI), that had not given up a goal the entire tournament.  The game ended 2-2 with both goals being scored by Jack S. With great perseverance the Celtics came out on top of the shootout 11-10 (no pressure here) and won the CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!! 

ASC Attack wins 2008 Spring Premier U11 Girls Championship

The Appleton Attack U-11 Girls - Won the Championship this weekend at ASC's Spring Premier Tournament. The Attack won all four of their games this weekend as follows:   an 8-0 win over Elm Grove Fire; a 4-0 win over Sheboygan Lighting; a 7-1 win in the Semi Finals to ASC Synergy and the Championship game was a 6-2 win over Sheboygan Lightning with the Attack outscoring their opponents 25-3, thus coming away with the Championship trophy.
